a little garden party happened, but it was so much more than that.
it was the joining of one of my best friends, Renée, and i over coffee one morning where we actually had an agenda. at the end of it, we knew we both wanted to embrace the women in omaha, build community in some way, and then celebrate them. we called it doing "something about something." having a variety of similar conversations across different friendships with Katie and Karen, the four of us sat down over dinner one night and decided to make our words into an effort, or a "something."
there are tons of women in omaha, and every city for that matter, who are reaching high and working hard to create a lasting impact, who are fighting for change, or who are just doing their best with what they have and doing an amazing job. it's important to celebrate that. it's important to fill each other up. it's important to shine a light on those women and bring them together. and it's important to ask, where do we go and what can we do next?
with hopes of bringing magical women together and building a community that is supportive and cultivates each and every woman's special magic here in omaha, we kept it simple to start. a meal, a discussion, and a lovely evening. from shining a light on one another to thinking about how we can impact change to learning more about those things in life that make us shine our brightest, the dinner's main goal was surrounded around building and loving on our community and lifting each other up.
but of course, so many more magical things happened. stay tuned as this won't be the last

Homegirl is talented beyond understanding. Getting to capture not only a beautiful woman but one hell of a photographer is no easy job, by any means. But, here's my go at capturing the personality of Carley Scott Fields.
